With the full-on energy of a steam locomotive, the Glade City Rounders have been performing around the world for twelve years. Through a deep love of old music and world class musicianship, the band has a loyal following across the country. As an award-winning old time and jug band, the Glade City Rounders have performed at some of the best festivals and venues known. Some of the most memorable shows are John Hartford Memorial Festival (where we brought one of John Hartford’s fiddles and our band member William See played it, sold out shows at the Station Inn (Nashville), and at Bluegrass Underground (the famous underground cave venue in middle Tennessee.)
Each band member is an accomplished musician in their own right. Richard ‘Squirrel’ McLain is an acclaimed banjo player who incorporates a very unique style called ‘Up Stroke’ banjo, an archaic technique almost completely lost in today’s world of banjo players. Tennessee Bill See is an award-winning fiddle and banjo player who is a true-vine musician, and was raised playing traditional music styles. Randy ‘Randpa’ Hill is one of the most in demand bassist currently touring. His slapbass techniques bring an energy to the band that is unmatched. Josh Smith is one of the most well-known old-time guitarists, and is known for his flatpicking and fingerstyle techniques. Smith not only play many guitar styles from blues to bluegrass he even plays the jug, and is known as one of the premier jug players in the world. Together this band puts on a show like no other. The energy and crowd response are supercharged when they are on stage. In September 2022, the Glade City Rounders will record their 4th album. Their first studio album was released in 2012 and quickly became the talk of the music community. Since then, they have released two more studio albums, to make a total of three. The Glade City Rounders know how to put on a show, and can attract fans from near and far.
